Update,Links & LO's

Once again thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers we really thought that we were going to lose dad on Sunday but i am pleased to report that he has rallied this week and says that he wants to stay around a bit longer to keep us all out of mischief. However mum and i feel much better as we now have plans and know what to do when the time comes as dad wants to die at home not in the hospital. Sorry very morbid talk I know but for those of you that know me know that i am good at talking and better to let it be said than bottle it up.

Now on to something completely different. I am not very patiently waiting for this
book Artisan Bread in Five minutes to be delivered. Its a belated birthday prezzie, go and check out the link its amazing and so so easy.

I have ordered another book Zakka Sewing which i am also not waiting very patiently for, it has some gorgeous things to make hopefully they wont be too hard for a very average not precise sewer.

Now Here's a couple of LO's I did last w/e before i got that dreaded call from my mum.
This LO was done with photos that the kids took of themselves with my new camera and as they do know that if they don't delete them straight away I WILL USE THEM. This is a LO using a Stampin Up kit that was another birthday prezzie, and yes its another one for the ball album, i promise it's nearly finished so you wont have to look at many more.

Well that's all for today. Tomorrow I am going to ask you all a question (not hard) its a question that Susan asked me and she was shocked by my answer, so i am going to ask you all.
Have a good night
Linda

A Big THANK YOU

Hi all sorry no pics today I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday and thanks for all of the wonderful prezzies I received. Flowers, lots of flowers, real and craft (I love flowers) a new Canon Powershot camera (on my list-the only thing on my list) a GOLD bead for my Pandora, my favourite Dioressence perfume that you cant buy in Australia any more, clothes, and vouchers to TM's, oh the list is endless see I really did get spoilt and don't forget Caitlin did my whole weeks ironing which to me is priceless. So thanks again.

Now back to reality... I wont be posting much this week or the next as my dad unfortunately has got worse and I would love to say that he will be getting better but I don't think that will happen this time so I know that you will all be thinking of us and if you are fortunate enough to have your dad still with you go and give him a hug as I will be doing over the next hours/days..

Cards & LO's

We have had a lovely day today beginning with my mother in law taking us out to lunch at the Atrium Restaurant of the Burswood, which was all very nice and yummy and I was very good and didn't over eat. Then Caitlin got in some valuable driving time by driving me to Susan's for a lovely crafty chat which always leaves me feeling very inspired to start something the minute I get home. Instead of doing craft though I thought I would share with you what has kept me busy last week.
To start with these are some cards I made which came in a pack from Tomorrows Memories
designed by Tracey . The class is called A Card Makers Tea Party and they have them once a month. I cant make it to the class so the shop always saves me a pack. Next is another page to Caitlin's ball album, I kept it pretty simple as the photo was very colourful. Wont bore you with the papers and all that as I have already mentioned them in previous posts.
Last is my entry into the monthly challenge at TM's, what didn't come out in the photo is the lace I have put all around the edge of the LO and of course I didn't have enough in my pack so I had to go back to the shop twice for some more.

That's all I have got to share for tonight, we have finally had some winter weather here and we had to put the heater on tonight as it's a bit chilly. The one good thing is that I don't have to cook dinner as everyone is still full from lunch.
Now everyone has to feel sorry for me and Joe (DS) as Andrew (DH) is still on holidays and Caitlin (DD) has got ten days off for exams and only two exams English and RE which doesn't require a lot of study. So Joe and I are the only ones that have to get up early to go to work and school...ho hum I feel sorry for us already....:( At this stage I must point out that the house is always immaculate when I come home from work all I have to do is cook dinner, Andrew has done everything else, so I do love it when he is on holidays.
Well I have blabbered far to long again, have a good week everyone

Mother-In-Law and Ironing!!!!

My M-I-L is a very talented painter and has painted many pieces in her life, she is now 83 and still likes to get her water colours out. Over the years she has parted with many of her china painted pieces and doesn't have many left, I have been lucky to score a few here and there but this mother's day I was lucky to score the very first piece of china that she painted and won an award for.

Not only that..it was accompanied with this beautiful tag/picture she painted. I am going to scrap a page about the day and include this on it as it's something to treasure for ever. and here it is.....beautiful... one day i will take some photos of some of the magnificent paintings and drawings we have on our walls...you wont be disappointed.

Now to the ironing bit. Tracey always inspires me to scrap the everyday little things, well you can't get more everyday than this. The paper is from Prima and the blue clothes line is the reverse side of it.
I thought that you could all relate to this page and i had fun doing it as it only took about 20 minutes. I did have fun going through my button stash and thanks to M-I-L I have some great vintage buttons which will look good on this.
Yes i have a thing for bags at the moment but this one looks really easy for me even if i have to draw the pattern myself. Anyone willing to give it a go with me?
Off to cook dinner now so have a good night and bee happy :0)

Mushrooms

Here's a quick share of two LO's that i did during the week.
Don't you just love this mushroom? It's from Crate paper and way too cute. If you enlarge the photo don't worry about Joe's face apart from being extremely dirty he had just come out of hospital from having a laser treatment and boy i forget how black and purple his face goes. Yes 12 or 13 years later we are still having laser treatment. Oh and the cute turtle and caterpillar were cut out with the cricut. Now this one is a scraplift kind of. At TM's the other night I eye spied this beautiful LO on display by Sharon Manning this is kind of a copy and definitely inspired by the one i saw. I stood there looking at it for about 15 minutes trying to remember everything that Sharon had done short of taking a photo (which the girls said I could but i didn't feel right doing so) trying to imprint on my brain what went where. Anyway there is a few things missing but then i suppose this it what makes it my LO. I just love it, so thanks Sharon for the inspiration. The papers, tag and stickers by the way are from Creative Imaginations and the small alphas are Making Memories.
Today i have spent ironing and baking and I am ready for a sit down now with my nice thick minestrone, crusty bread and a cup cake with my coffee for later when i will be in my scrap room.
Have a good week ahead everyone, thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment i love to meet more bloggers.

Red Carpet Event

As you are all probably aware now from all of my posts, my local scrap store turns 5 this month and last night was their gala red carpet event. We just had to dress up in anything formal. As I wear an apron all day at work and don't really have a lot of formal clothes i got Jenni to make me a nice formal apron. I would like to point out at this stage that I am very reluctant to post these photo's of me as they aren't the best but I must parade Jenni's apron for you so ignore me and focus on the apron. (Oh the mark on the bottom of the apron in the second photo is a mark on the camera lens not the apron) It had sequins and nice frills at the bottom and beading and more frills at the top. Now all you animals lovers out there I am really sorry but this is a real mink, sable or whatever, my mother in law gave it to Caitlin thinking I don't know what!!!!! Caitlin will never wear it and it is politically incorrect to wear one these days and although the colour didn't go I wore it as it was "anything goes."
There were a lot of great outfits and some great jewellery that ladies had made out of paper and beads and a good night was had by all. On a sad note it was Tracey's last night working there but don't fret Tracey is still teaching some classes and for those of you that didn't know Tracey won a national award earlier this year for her card making.
Now to all of those lucky people that went to the quilt fair I would love to hear from you and find out all that I have missed this year.
Take care
Linda

When the paper is beautiful....

........you don't have to do much to it. I love this paper its by Webster's Pages and the line is called Your Life. Beautiful. All I did was cut around and ink the butterflies to make them stand out add some Kaisercraft pearls and some American craft thickers and bingo it was done. Now KNOW ONE told me or maybe i never listened that you could add a small amount of your favourite perfect pearls to water in a spritzer bottle and you have in my case a beautiful gold mist. You cant see it on these cards but i sprayed the gold on the top. I was inspired to make these after watching the videos on the Ranger Ink website.

I also want to make this gorgeous handbag that Melissa Goodsell has just made, I went and downloaded the pattern but I have never made a bag of any type before. It only takes a fat quarter of fabric and hey I've got loads of them to chose from.
To all you mums out there have a
happy mother's day
Linda
