Shhh....

Hi There
Just wanted to share a LO I did the other night. Really easy it only took me about 20minutes. The photo is not a good one but it does bring back loads of memories for Andrew & I so this LO is all about the journalling, with that in mind I wanted to leave the rest simple so i just added some American Craft stickers and some buttons. Not a great artistic masterpiece but to me it journals the memories for later years and that to me is what scrapbooking is all about. Well in this part of the world school is back tomorrow and that means back to work for me. Ho Hum, dare I say this term is only a short one about 8 weeks I think.
So if your loved one is starting school for the first time or moving on up to High School I hope that they have a great day and that YOU don't spend to much time worrying about them.
Caitlin is at The Big Day Out today. Ho Hum (again) my little girl is all grown up.
Happy Birthday Tracey. You should make it a week long birthday.
That's it for me tonight
Thanks for stopping by

Valentines Day Gift Boxes

Greetings.
Here are some cute boxes that I made with the cricut (yes again) and the Love Struck cartridge. First let me tell you about the flower, this is my first attempt at a Tim Holtz grunge flower and wow I love how its turned out. There are heaps of videos on YouTube of how to make these (someone has used up all of our download time so i cant get the link for you sorry). Now for the boxes. I made them on the fit to page size so they came out really big, not quite as long as a family block of chocolate but about double the depth. This is for Caitlin.
Where the cut out heart is I put a clear transparency so they can see their choccies and so they don't fall out.

Andrew's box is on the left and Joe's is on the right. Yes I know that the paper is a bit babyish for Joe but its been in my stash ever since i started scrapping and i want to get rid of it.

I am just trying to give you an idea of the size here. All I need to do now is fill them with treats and they are done.
Oh well the summer holidays have finished back to school/work on Monday although technically I started back last Wednesday.
My hair doesn't seem to have grown that much, i still give myself a shock every time i walk past a mirror.
Managed to stay on my d*** all week. Had my weigh in and lost weight.
Purchased another cricut cartridge Wild Card SShhh meant to be saving
Not much else happening how bout you?
Off to make my Cappuccino now, it's my daily treat.
xx

Grumpy Me

Hi all and happy Australia Day.
Caitlin is on the foreshore as I write this post and I am not even worrying nor am i going to. For those of you who don't know let me explain. Perth has the biggest firework event in Australia on Australia Day. They have it in the city on the Swan River. This year they are expecting over 300 000 people to attend. This year it is alcohol free so that's a good thing.

Anyway here is another page for my challenge over at Big Picture Scrapbooking. This one took me a while as i spent a long time on the flowers. They were cut out with the cricut then covered in distress ink then i clear embossed them. I have also put a heap more stamps on the stalks (ribbon) it looks better. Yes i have managed to stay on my D*** for 4 whole days now and as this is really strict I am finding it hard. Not that I am hungry but you know how your brain works-when you want something, it is all you think about. So i might just be a little bit grumpy this week especially since i am NOT allowed to drink COFFEE. Ok enough said.

With that I will leave you all and stay hiding in my craft room far, far away from the kitchen.

xx

I Know, I know, I know

Yes I know that Valentines Day is not overly huge here in Aus and we don't do gifts for our children to share with all of their class friends and we don't do gifts for their teachers but how could I resist this very American letterbox (from the Love Struck Cart) to collect all of MY Valentines in (ha ha what Valentines). Isn't it so cute? The little arm goes up and down-hi you've got mail. My American friends must think I am nuts but we don't have letter boxes like these. Anyway i thought that i would make two small treat bags for the two ladies at work and put them in here (I haven't made them yet so i will show you when i do)
Now one of my very good friends husband is turning 50 in March and he wants a Cowboy party so I ordered this cartridge especially to do the decorations (Old West) and here are two very happy cowboys with their Peachy Keen stamped faces. If you have boys this cart is great. I will show you other decorations as i make them.

Now boy did i have dramas at the hairdresses the other day. My hairdresser is away in Ireland so i had to go to the local up the road. Well let me tell you we kind of had a little misunderstanding about how much you cut of in a trim. What could i do after the first cut where she only left me with an inch of hair-tell her to stop? Well no i didn't and the end result is well here is what my husband said "you look like an escaped criminal from the ladies prison". Joe just laughed and said "don't worry mum it's summer and hair grows faster in summer" does it? Gosh I hope so. After a nights sleep it still doesn't look any better and every time i pass a mirror i give myself a fright. Oh well what can you do its only hair, it will grow back.
Now other news which i really didn't want to tell you but i will anyway, i went and joined the weight loss programme with Tony Ferguson today, its time, i need to do something. The only thing i will really miss is my cappuccinos with my new machine i got for Christmas. I can only now have decaf and a tiny tiny tiny bit of milk. Enough said and i will keep you up dated but not until i reach my first goal.
Only one week of holidays left i cant believe how fast they have gone.
And Joe went well with his laser op on Monday-thank you all for your wishes. That was his very last one under a general anaesthetic-yoo hoo-any other treatment he can have at her surgery. It's now entirely up to Joe as to how many more treatments he wants if any. (for those of you who don't know what i am talking about my son was born with a birth mark on the left side of his face, although you only notice it the first time you meet him it is something that bothers him and he has been having laser surgery since he was 6 months old-his goes really deep) and i must say that never, not once has anyone ever teased or bullied him about it. So how good is that.
Boy this is a LLLLOOOOONNNNNNNNgggggggggggg post.
OK I have run out of things to say so have a good night/day where ever you are in the world.
Thanks for making it to the end of this post and visiting me today.
Linda

When you are in a hurry......

When you need a card in a hurry what do you do? Go to your cricut of course. These two cards were made with the Stretch Your imaginations Cart and aren't the matching envelopes just way to cute? The other day i was blog hopping (as you do) and found this turorial for these beautiful flowers, so i just had to make my own. Instead of a scallop punch i used my cricut which was fine as my paper wasn't real thin. I just had to make a few of them and had them all sitting on my desk when Joe (DS) came in and said "Oh Pac Man Cards". Yes he is right the white cut out also reminds me of pac man. LOL I am mentally preparing myself for our hot 41degree day tomorrow. At least I am not going to cricket (poor Andrew and Joe it's the first game back after the christmas break). Then on Monday Joe is going into hospital to have another laser treatment, so i may just take my sewing and actually do those rod pockets....mmmmm...you know the ones i've been meaning to do ever since i started my blog.
Have a good weekend everyone and keep cool or warm depending on where you are from.

Three More Lay Outs

Hi how are you all today? I have had a great day. A little bit of crafting,a little bit of ironing, a little bit of cooking,a little bit of blog hopping. Yes it's been a good day.
This is my LO that I did at my class on Monday night. The class is a series called "Me, Myself & I" . Tracey has been teaching this class for some 20 months, I have been to a few but as they are on Monday nights I usually only manage to go on the school holidays. Here is my LO for the monthly challenge at Tomorrows Memories. I cut out the doily from the Mothers Day cartridge (cricut machine) at 8 inches (love, love love it) and stamped the title on the ribbon for something different.

and this is one of my LO's for the online course I am doing at Big Picture Scrapbooking already I am way behind and will have to do some catch up tonight. The tree was also cut with the cricut but I cant remember which cartridge I used.
My craft room is nearly back to normal all tidy and boy did I chuck out a lot of stuff and the bin is full and Andrew is not happy. But you get that.
I thought that i would do a roast tonight before the next lot of really hot weather arrives. 42 on Sunday I know where i will be.
Have a good night
Linda

Family Gratitude Album

OOps sorry my craft room is in disarray as i have turned everything upside down and am having a huge clean out so although i have been crafting in this mess i haven't been posting much.
This is what kept me busy last week.
An album by Teresa Collins. It came as a kit so all i had to supply was the rhinestones and the photos and the binding machine. I just love how it turned out. Here are a few photos.

I went to another class last night and will post my LO tomorrow when i have reprinted a photo. Thanks Tracey.
I really enjoyed it.
Well I have to get back to my mess
Until tomorrow
Adieu

3 More Reasons Why I Love My Cricut/Gypsy

Just look at these, aren't they gorgeous. My spring bundle cartridges arrived yesterday and these are from the "Mothers Day 2010" cart. I have just cut them out on scraps (plain paper would have been more effective) but i just love them. Now I cant wait for my expression to arrive so I can cut them out at 12inches. These were cut at 6inches. Let me tell you the funny thing. I always buy these doily papers and they sit in my stash b/c i don't really know how to use them, i had better learn quick they are so pretty. Yesterday i went to a class at my local scrapbook store
and we made these two LO's all with Pink Paislee kits. Inking, reds and browns yum my favourite and some pretty blue glitter alphas, and check out the funky flower. Thanks Evana i enjoyed my afternoon.
It's another beautiful day in our part of the world. I slept in until really late then we all went out for lunch. It's fun at the moment going out with our 2 nearly adult children, watching and listening to them, realising that we wont have many years left of this but feeling very proud at the way they have grown up and matured.
We had to evacuate from out house last Monday as there was a severe bush fire a block behind us. It was pretty scary, i am used to cyclones not fires. The water bombers were right over us, i am sure that if you were on the roof you could have touched them. Luckily we were allowed back home after a couple of hours and no damage done but boy was it close just at the end of the street.
I had so much planned for today ie-ironing, baking, scrapping... but whenever i go out to lunch i always feel lazy when i get home. So guess what, i am on holidays and i can do it all tomorrow.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

The Challenge Of Me

Hi There
I have been so busy lately doing nothing. Does that happen to you? You seem to be busy but you don't really have anything to show for it. Well i am enjoying my holidays and really not doing all that much, I have scrapped heaps but nothing is finished so i cant show you. I am currently working on a Teresa Collins Family Gratitude album and doing my very fist online class here
It's great fun and there are some really clever ladies posting their finished pages for us all to see.
Here are a couple of my pages.
I cut the notes out for this one with my gypsy/cricut aren't they cute. I am using so much of my paper stash its great and this weeks challenge was to use "shaped paper" which really was a challenge for me as I find it hard to use and that's probably why i have a lot of it in my stash.(oops i did use it really-just not in these two LO's). OOH we had to do a LO about our health. Well let me tell you i did do one but no way was i putting it up on the gallery and i am not putting it up here either...
I am going to a class tomorrow at my scrapbook store, I haven't been to one in a while so I am looking forward to it.
Have a good weekend everyone where ever you are.

01.01.10***Happy New Year***

Happy New Year to you all. I just had to write 01.01.10 as I think it looks really cool and this is the only chance today i have had to write it, and after all i will never get another chance.

Mmm summer time and that means Blue Swimmer Crabs and guess what special feast we had for our New Years Day meal....mmmmm (only 3 of us had it as Joe doesn't like seafood). My online scrap challenge/course from here
started yesterday and this is my cover page. It should be good as the only thing i will have to buy is my album, the course is designed to use your stash and just like my fat 1/4's (from quilting) i have my favourites and i think "oh they are so lovely i will keep them and use them on something else" and what happens? You don't use them at all and they just sit there, so i am going to use my favourite papers in this course. That's the end of this post but before i go (yes there is always something from me with my ramblings) I would really like to thank you ALL for spending some time with me and for your support in what has been a very difficult year. I love this blog world and i love reading your blogs and see whats happening in your part of the world so THANK YOU and i wish you and your families a very Happy New Year.
