Trekking

Hello again everyone, I hope that you all are having a great weekend.

My photos are all over the place today sorry about that. Joe arrived home from his Trekking yesterday afternoon 2 hours late and very tired. Here is a photo of one of their camp sites. He had a ball and already they are planning next years which is going to Broome and will take 2 weeks. Two weeks of school! Joe will be in that in a flash. I have got 2 LO's for you today and both of them I have copied from other people, this one came from the recent issue of SC and was a LO by Julie Heard I just love the way it has turned out. I even digitally altered my photos and used some old papers that I thought I would never use. Caitlin hates the photo of her and says "why did you have to use that one!?"

Back to Joe's Trek again and here we are in Bunbury with Joe's dream car, this one apparently cost $148,000 as everything is custom made. Imagine the fuel bill for this car. He got to sit in it so he was very happy.

Last but not least is a christmas LO which I had to copy from Susan (stitch scrap sew) hers was so good, and mine has turned out completely different as I didn't have any christmas ribbon in the right colours so I used buttons and mine ended up in a different place. I am still very happy with the final result.

Well it's the end of another week I hope that all is well in your world, stay safe and have a great week.

See I really did have blonde hair!

Here is my latest LO which has taken me a while b/c there is something about it which I don't like or maybe it needs a little blue in it . I do love the transparency that I made though. It's funny, I got this stamp in a pack and thought that I would never use it but it makes a beautiful border. The photo is of my Taid (grandad in Welsh) who had come for a visit-from England, my brother and I are sitting on his knee, see how blonde my hair is and my mum is standing next to us. Years ago when I visited my Taid in England he looked exactly the same, still wearing a jacket with a knitted vest underneath, he never seemed to age although he was 90 when I visited.
Our house is very quiet at the moment as Joe is on the Appealathon trek having a ball by all accounts. It's Andrew's birthday on Saturday so we are all going to the Burswood buffet for dinner. YUM I hope Joe manages to stay awake as he gets back at 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
Have a good night everyone

Safe and Sound

Wow isn't it hot today, I had to weaken and put the a/c on usually I can wait until it gets really hot but it was really hot at work today and I haven't cooled down yet. Here is a snap I took of Caitlin yesterday, she is all grown up and nearly driving. Yesterday morning we went and collected Caitlin's car from her grandparents house (my mum and dads), then we spent half an hour at a car park in Mt Hawthorn with Caitlin driving round and round and me hanging on to the door. Caitlin did extremely well I am very proud of her. I had had enough by then so we came home. On the way home Caitlin said I love driving can I have another go, so when we got home with the neighbours looking on we braved the back streets around us. Before we even got out the drive way I said "now if we come across another car dont PANIC just make sure that you are on the correct side of the road.) As this was the first time on an actual road. Well we took off at great speed 40kms which I thought was miles to fast and the first 2 mins were very scary as Caitlin didn't think that she needed to break going round a corner, I settled down, although I do wish that Caitlin would drive with 2 hands on the wheel- that is very scary. All in all she did extremely well and so did I, no yelling (only once) or screaming. I dont know if I would call it fun but it whas time spent with my daughter which is always precious.
Hope you all have a good week.

Hand Painting

Hello everyone, it has been a couple of days since I last posted anything that's b/c I went back to work this week and am just a bit tired. It has taken me all week to do this LO which is very unusual for me. I was inspired by Nina Granzien (The Scrapbookers Nest) who is a design team member for Craft Queen. (thanks Nina) I love my CQ ribbons and sometimes don't want to use them b/c they are so nice. I still have this painting that Caitlin did in her scrapbook along with the 100 or so others.
Joe is off on the Appealathon Trek tonight and away for 8 nights so our house will be a bit quieter for a week or so.
And guess what? That means NO cricket on Sunday. A sleep in-BLISS. Then I am going to take Caitlin out for her first driving lesson. Wish me luck
Have a great w/e everyone.
Xx Linda
PS Hope you are feeling better Susan

My Friend

I was up last night going through all of my quilting stuff to find a ufo to take to cricket this morning, I needn't have worried there is plenty of unfinished things for me to choose from. Joe had his best game ever, at one stage he was on a hat trick but didn't quite get it. He finished the day with 4 for 5 (or for you people that don't follow cricket that is 4 wickets for 5 runs). So he was very pleased with himself. Here's my latest page of one of my girlfriends who is very near and dear to me. I could have moved the heart down a bit and I am not altogether happy with the flowers, I guess that it didn't turn out as I had pictured it in my mind-oh well you get that-
Am trying to psyche myself up for work tomorrow but aren't having much luck, I will have to start the countdown for the chrissy holidays (I sound just like one of my children).
Well I hope that all is well in your part of the world where ever you are. Have a good week.

How cute are these

A couple of days ago I was blog hopping-as you do- and went on to the Pink Paiselee blog it was World Card Making Day. You could get free instructions to make cards. This was one of them, it's a gift card holder but I am going to use the middle one for a money card, don't you think there just great. I will have to start making some for Christmas especially for those people whom you give gift vouchers to.
It's the last day of my holidays today All good things must come to an end.
Have a great weekend everyone.

RTA:ALERT ALERT

Just wanted to let you all know (or warn you) that Caitlin has passed her L's and she will be on the road any time soon. So next time you see me please have a Panadol ready and don't comment on those extra grey hairs that I'm sure will be evident in the next couple of months.
Hope that you are all enjoying the last couple of days of the holidays.

I Love School Holidays

Here we are all dressed up for a 21st birthday party that we went to the w/e before last. The colour theme was Pink and Yellow the only yellow thing Joe had to wear was an old sports shirt from school and yes I do have some pink on. I was in TM's and Tracey was working on a LO where she had cut out these flowers from the BG eva range so of course I was inspired to do the same. Thanks Tracey you teach me so much and give me ideas that I would never think to do.
My mini albums are both finished now-yooohoooo, one was fun but two was a challenge.
I'm sure I've mentioned before how much I love the school holidays, I read late into the night last night as I knew that I could sleep in this morning. What a luxury.
Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings.
Hope that you have a nice night tonight. NCIS is on my ab fab show so I will.

Copy Cat

Here's a page that I did today with the new Basic Grey Ambrosia papers, no sewing on this I did however use lots of dimensional magic on the hearts and they are nice and shiny. I copied this idea from MM's blog using the negative space from the circles I cut from my cricut (oops it should be the new slice). The photo is from my mum and dads 55th wedding anniversary that was in 2006 so this year it will be their 57th. WOW. Andrew and I are nearly up to our 20th (we got married on the same day and year as Clori and her husband and we are both expecting eternity rings this December, Aren't we Clori?)
Then again I want a lot of things at the moment - beads for my Pandora and the new MM slice and all the accessories that go with it. I hope that Santa IS VERY RICH..
Well that's enough dreaming.
Remember to tell someone near and dear to you that you love them and if possible go and have a coffee with your mum and dad.
