Cakewalk, Project Life and LO's

Yay I'm excited, Cakewalk by October Afternoon has finally been released and made its way to Australia and I have some in my hot little hands. I first saw it at one of the CHA sneaks and have been waiting for its release since then.

I used it straight away in my week 24 Project Life which is all about Joe and as I had so many photos there's a few LO's as well.

See that cake bottom left, it's a hard life when you have to taste creations like this that your son makes at TAFE.
I used one of my new flair buttons that I purchased from Leena they are wonderful I really don't want to use them, just looking at them is fun. I recommend you check them out.

Here I have used a different sized page protector, each pocket is 6x6.
I even created a text box in word and typed my journaling.

Oops I forgot to delete the text box.

I like these 6x6 I can treat them as a mini LO
Here's another one

Now on to the big LO's which I will also put in my PL album.

The funny thing with this LO is I stamped and adhered most of the hexagons in one go then I went and cooked dinner when I came back to the LO I thought it needed more so I stamped some more hmmm "which colour ink did I use" I have three that are all a bit terracotta oops I used the wrong one, hence the top hexagons are a bit darker than the others.

Gosh I feel short in this photo and trust me I am not, 6 foot in bare feet, that just shows you how tall the guys in my family are.

Phew that was a long post
You have made it to the end
Thanks for stopping by.

18

My baby turned 18 last weekend

Gosh time sure goes by so quick. We celebrated at a restaurant but that's another post on its own.

Here's the card I made with inspiration from Tracey.

Was very happy with the way it turned out.

The postie was a frequent visitor to my house last week, one of the arrivals was my first block in the Fat Quarter Shop mystery block of the month and of corse I had to make a little home for it

and here is the first block all finished

and I'm so so happy with the way it turned out.

Finally here's a card I made after watching Papertrey Inks "make it Monday" video

and yes again...I am happy with how this turned out.

I hope you all had a great weekend and that you all have a good week.

Hi there

I am practising shooting photos in full manual mode, I know one is a bit blurry so prepare your eyes for a work out.

I had a few minutes to spare so I played with my last PTI delivery. The card below was inspired by this card by Debbie Olsen.
Originally I had planned to use my water colour pencils but when one opened her desk drawer said pencils were not there. Hmmm I wonder what child borrowed them but never put them back. Alas I used my distress inks instead.

I am so happy with how it turned out, I even drew some little birds. My card is upside down from Debbie's, I wonder if that's because we come from the land down under! Expect a few of these cards with flip flops I love the dies and stamp set-so so cute.

With this card I just wanted to play with this cute telephone die and stamp set.

Yesterday afternoon I had a spare half an hour so I whipped up these label stickers to use on my Project Life. I normally buy October Afternoon stickers but these were fun, quick and easy to make plus I can make them in any colour.

And here's another photo coz I am practising after all

Ok here's the blurry one
Our sweet treat for after dinner. It was TAFE day so Joe came home with this strawberry gateau that he had made.

It was delicious.
Thanks for making it to the end.

Finally

Yes finally, you won't believe it, this little project has been missing from my posts for a couple of months.
Can you remember back a year ago when Susan , Tracey and I started our caravan quilt?
Well I was a bit behind but now I'm all caught up. Here is the completed quilt top

Ok so that took a year and as I am going to undertake the quilting myself it will probably take another year.
I opted to leave my side panels plain, and skip the inner borders altogether, as it's quite colourful I decided plain and simple was best.

Now I have to catch up on my Some Kind of Wonderful quilt and everything will be up to date.
But I might just have to go and play with some paper now.
