Cards, LO's and digital

Hi all hope you are having a glorious day. We were lucky to be taken out to a beautiful Italian restaurant for lunch. YUM

Here is my first instalment for today. My Pink Stamper is having her first ever challenge and although i don't normally do these type of things this one sounded fun so i thought i would give it a go. All we had to do was use the cricut and use the colours green, pink & black. So thanks to Emma and her wonderful videos i designed this card on the gypsy and then cut it out on the cricut. I thought this would make a fun card along with a packet of coffee for my friend who happens to be a coffee addict. This was a LO designed by Kelly Goree using my Basic Grey monthly pack. I cant get over the difference in height between mother and son.

Now this one i just love and it was so easy. This is a "hybrid" LO and the whole white piece was designed by Ali Edwards and you can get it free here just download it and put your photos in. You don't need Photoshop Elements you can just load it into a word document.

OK this is a "hybrid" card and not a great one but i was just experimenting. This is a Hero Arts digital stamp that i loaded into a Word document then printed onto cardstock.

Yes you have made it to the end.

A Mini Album

Hi there everyone, it is a beautiful day here today and I am on holidays, the house is clean and the ironing is up to date so now it's all about me.

I made a mini album the other day, not for anything/anyone special but because I loved the design. One of my favourite bloggers Christina (OK you are all my favourite) designed this album and I love all of the quirky little hidden things in it to hide messages or photos. Although I didn't have access to some of the craft supplies Christina has I made do and even invented some things on my cricut/gypsy.
So here it is. All the paper is Basic Grey-Indian Summer (my all time favourite range). I must pause here and say that the gorgeous flower on the front was made with the cricut and instructions from Tereesa.
The next pages- a little tag in a pocket.

Love this page, i had to make these little files on the gypsy, you could put photos in there or notes -whatever.

I hand drew and cut the flower on the left and i love, love love the envelope on the next page, it all unfolds so you could hide something in the middle. Behind this there are 3 little tags,

and the last pages, another envelope with a tag in it or money if you are lucky. Both of the envelopes were cut with the cricut.

So there you go, I am not going to gift this one I thought I might keep it and use it for inspiration when i make other mini albums.

All thetas left for me to do today is to plan our holiday in June. We cant decide between Bali or Penang-its a hard life.

Hi There

Hello blogger friends, yes I am still here. I have been busy doing STUFF, you know how it gets and we are having a few Internet issues which hopefully will be fixed this week.
Well Easter has come and gone and I hope that you all had a lovely time spent with family and friends. We did.
Caitlin (as you all know is studying primary teaching at Uni) wanted to give the children in her prac class a little gift for Easter and as they aren't allowed to give choccies, sweets etc this was a bit of dilemma. So good ol' mum (me) went and got some pencils and rubbers (erasers for you US folks) and wrapped each one individually (b/c they don't make bags in this strange shape) and made a topper to go on each one.
Here's a close up. The children really loved them as they were something different b/c they had been given chocolate eggs all day (strange i know, i didn't think they could do that.)

Next up another LO for my hybrid course, the photo and frames and the red/white paper where all photoshopped together, then i downloaded a whole page of the warning labels cut 3 out and stuck them on the page. Yes I even got out my needle and thread.

The week before Easter i went to a craft class and made this gorgeous little gift box and matching set of cards.

So of course when i got home I went and made another 4 sets (yes I know you can only see 2 but i did make 4 really,truly) and my trusty cricut makes these tiny, tiny envelopes which fit perfectly.

I would just like to welcome my friend Tereesa to blog land, if you need any cricut/gypsy advise go and ask her.

Now my next update, and to all those who tune in regularly will know what i mean when i say 22.4

I caught up with some friends today to do a bit of craft and all i made was 1 little flower. I did spend a lot of time helping others, but it was good to be on holidays and catch up with some friends.

This photo cracks me up-everytime.

Good afternoon all, its a weird day here today a bit dark and gloomy and very muggy hopefully we will get some rain tomorrow.

Here is my next hybrid instalment. The whole "sweeter than sugar" bit is done on the PC, it was a tag but i made it bigger, added some text and attached some photos then printed it of. Everything else is "real-touchy feely" paper, flowers and ribbon. I printed of a separate little tag on normal paper and cut out the cup cake to go on my flower. I was just going through my albums and came across these two photos and i had never realised how intent Joe was with the candles. Of course way back then we probably had a drama and tantrum about him blowing out the candles, but now these photos just crack me up and make me smile. If you cant read the text on the LO just click on the photo, hopefully it will put a smile on your face, if not it might bring back some memories of your own. Here's a cute card i made with the cricut.

and here are 4 cards i made with the left over paper from my monthly challenge. Don't know about the top right one but i like the others. The top left one will be my Mothers Day card when i borrow a sentiment stamp from Susan (just planning ahead)

Provocraft have just released another bundle of cartridges for my cricut (i already have 4 on pre-order from their January release) but there is a really, really cute robot one and a really cute critter one and a romantic Paris one and a fun holiday one, gosh how is one meant to save for our holidays?

A Butterfly

Hi all a very short post today, but i just wanted to show you something that i learnt from another blog. Love this blogging community. Although the card below might seem basic to you for me it was a first. Thanks to Emma and this video here she showed us how to copy and paste an image then reverse one then weld them together-all on the GYPSY-are you confused yet? Anyway what i am trying to say is Emma taught me how to make shaped cards. Now that i have done a butterfly shaped card i can use any image on my cartridges to make different shaped cards. My card is pretty basic but now I know the "HOW" i can go and experiment.

Scrapping,cards lots of cooking & no eating

Hi everyone, hope you are all OK. Although i have a few photos to show you i will have to be quick as Caitlin wants to print of her Uni assignment. So here goes...
A lot of baking was done this weekend. Some plum jam made in the bread maker. Yum, shame i cant eat it. Some profiteroles & on the left is some mango bread , the recipe courtesy of Rumi and next to that a marble cake recipe here from Lisa. All where yum apparently.

Next up my hybrid LO from my online class this week and i got to use some of the ribbon that i won from Mel last year. The blue paper, the tag with the little girl and the paper with the writing on are a free digital kit by Tia Bennett available at Two Peas. This is my entry for the monthly challenge at my local scrap store.

And the card on the left was from here, Tracey's second tutorial (my card didn't turn out nearly as nice as hers-the stamp i think,should have used a bigger one). Now the two little girls are a free digital stamp sorry i cant remember where from, that i printed out and coloured with my copics, cut out and made into a card. Aren't they sweet.

OK that was short and sweet for me.

Have lost 16kg now.

Pot Holders or Face Washers?

Hi everyone thanks for stopping by. I need your help. As you know i thought that i would make some face washers to go in my Easter baskets. I had this picture in my mind and this is the end result.. Yes they look like pot holders don't you think. Not at all what i had imagined. So I got to thinking again and thought "Body Glove", now this did turn out like I expected.

Which would you prefer do you think.

On to other things. I had my second online class for my Hybrid scrapbooking and must say that i am learning a lot and its not too hard.

This LO I did during the week and as i used more of my Hero Arts digital butterfly's (that i printed on white card stock and then coloured in with my Copics) and Photo-shopped the photos (ie I put a grungy frame around them) and did my journalling in Microsoft Word you would call this a Hybrid page.

Now this one I did last night and most of it is Digital. The blue paper and the flowers are a digi kit from J Sprague-Echoes of Asia and the word art was designed for the class by J Mcnally. The wonderful thing is these kits are FREE. Now without boring you the blue paper, photo,word art and 1 flower where all layered and printed on a sheet of photopaper. I then printed some extra flowers onto white cardstock cut them out and mounted them on foam and stuck them on. The brownish background is Kraft card stock and the title and journal strip are from my stash-not digital.

I will never do a whole LO digital for 2 reasons. I love the touchy feely textures and 3d elements we make to go on our pages and No 2- All of my LO'S are 12x12 and i cant print them out on my computer, oh and there is a third point, when would i use my most precious Cricut if i turned a digital scrapper?

Other things..

I have done my usual ironing this morning whilst mum came over and had a chat.

After that I made Hedgehog slice, which i had to taste (just a morsel) and some strange quiche Lorraine recipe (which i also had to taste). I say strange as there is no pastry, the bottom of the pan has a sprinkling of breadcrumbs and then you add 1/2 cup SR flour to the eggs. A bit like the impossible pie. However it did turn out and it tasted really nice.
